Develop a concept to encourage greater use of public spaces e.g. BoradWalk, Wyse park etc.

    Agenda: Place

Update: Proposal to develop trail using ‘pole wraps’ using characters from PF map

Status: Sub group needed to explore options

    Partners: Festival committees Working Group

Resources Required: Social media promotion?? Pole wraps at key locations (2 wraps x 10 locations)

Suggestions on this welcome – any volunteers for a sub group to look at this?

Development of a market/ a night market (perhaps during festivals)?

Perhaps the Playful City’s model along the Boardwalk might be an option. See here for information on Playful City: https://www.aplayfulcity.com/

Wyse Park has been used for Winterval 2018 and the feedback is that it is very difficult to get people to visit the park (even though it runs parallel to John’s Street). Are there any further suggestions to improve the visability of the park?

re – Wyse Park visibility –
large billboard sign on gable end of new Hillbillies opposite front of Revolution

re- pole wraps – businesses in wexford are using corriboard folded triangles on bollards on the street

    Hi All,

Nuala here, following up on the recommendations from Maureen and Lisa,
I have just sent a message to all retailers in the ‘Retail Huddle’ group to subscribe to the Purple Flag Waterford as a communication portal. So hopefully there will be more stakeholders involved in supporting and the promotion of Waterford.
    Thanks
